[Kundalini Yoga] Sodarshan Chakra Kriya - Tip of Nose

More on the tip of the nose thing:

For me, maybe because I wear bifocals or something specific about my
eyes, I find that bringing my finger to my nose just makes me crosseyed
and eye strained. The technique that works for me did not come out of
the KY workbook, so read with the understanding that this is just what
works for me.

*
First, sit in front of a clean space. No alter, no Persian rug. Plain
so that the area a couple feet in front of your seat is not distracting

*
Have a small about of light. Enough to see, but not so much that the
world outside is distracting. The best was setting moonlight, but you
can't have that every day.

*
Next, close one eye and then the the other to figure out which eye is
dominant. For me, while I am doing SCK this is usually the right eye,
the one connected to the left brain hemisphere.

*
Close the dominant eye.

*
Open the non dominant eye to 1/10 open, so you can see the side of the
nose

*
Open the dominant eye slowly until the image from that eye is equally
bright.

*
Now you see two half noses with no cross-eyed eye strain. The right
eye sees the nose on the left and vica versa.

*
Focus of awareness is in the hollow between the two images. Looks a
little like a new moon. Maybe that is the moon ins Shiva's head on some
level. Who knows.

*
Alter the squint to maintain the two noses being equal.

Here is a Yogi Bhagjan quote: "Focusing on the tip of the nose
causes the frontal lobe, which controls the personality, to become like
lead. At one point the pain can become so unbearable, you cannot stand
it. Then it `breaks,' and you have found what you are looking
for, and that is forever. Nobody can take it away. To grow roots, you
must open yourself up."

For me, this approach gives me the heavy feeling in my forehead that I
think he referring to. Very different from an eyestrain feeling. I am
still getting used to this after over two weeks and readjust my eyes
many times in the 62 minute Sodarshan Chakra Kriya.

If you try this, let me know how it goes for you.
