[Kundalini Yoga] Need Advise

 


Recently my brother in law (sister's husband ) (G) passed away he was 43 and he lives his wife and 3 kids aged 10, 9 & 8 behind. Another brother in law of mine who was close to him says that he keeps hearing G call out to him to join him even at 7am when its light and lately he's not well. Is there any mantra he can to chant to counter this and send the soul back to light or is there a kriya for alignment etc.

*To answer your questions --

Also, I am breathing, then putting my hand down while the breath is being held. Is this OK? 31 minutes is a long time to hold my arm up.

* I agree. I put my arm down too for that long. Just monitor not loosing air.

Lastly, I to the Sodarshan Chakra Kriya first thing in the morning, pretty much within 10 minutes of getting up. I also so SA TA NA MA with the fingers for my afternoon meditation (31 minutes) followed by silence (29 minutes)

Is it weird to do Sodarshan Chakra Kriya and SA TA NA MA in the same day?

* No. Whatever works for you.

Would it be better to just do an hour of silence in the afternoon for the 40 days I will be doing Sodarshan Chakra Kriya?

* I think your choice of sa ta na ma in the afternoon followed by silence is good. Do you have time for some silence after sck? Silence is golden after the mantra meditations.

Cleansing and Purification Practices

Sat Nam!

From my forthcoming book --

To take care of our body, we have to know how to exercise correctly, to eat so that we digest our food, to get enough sleep, and to balance our activities to reduce stress and maintain a relaxed state of being. Purification and diet are critical to bringing our body and physical and etheric centers into balance.

In traditional yoga, one starts with fasting and cleansing of the colon. As the colon is cleansed of excess accumulated debris, it begins to take on a very dynamic activity through all its interconnected nerve endings. It communicates with all other organs and centers in the body to trigger them to release their accumulated toxins and poisons into the blood stream. Part of the detoxification process happens through elimination from the colon. Toxins are also processed through the liver and eliminated through the lungs, kidneys, skin and bloodstream.

***Tightness and pain in the lower back is often related to blocked energy of an impacted colon. Navel and lower chakra exercises must be accompanied by a cleansing diet to alleviate these issues.

The cleansing of the organs, energy centers and body systems can be assisted by certain herbs that trigger various organs to discharge their toxic waste. Fresh raw vegetable juices provide the organic minerals that are drawn directly to the various centers that accumulate the minerals, build a charge and in the process discharge accumulated toxic waste.

Without the prerequisite cleansing, it becomes more difficult to effect the secretions of the glands and charging of the nerve centers. The process takes much longer and may be somewhat disjointed or impeded. When dietary cleansing and purification is combined with yoga, Pranayama, mantra meditation and devotional practices, there is a rapid progress towards the purification of our body vessel.

In the Yogi Bhajan video. He adds things that are not in the 'official' directions (1) Keep your right hand up while pumping, (2) count with the fingers, (3) the pumps should take 30 seconds, (4) 2 complete cycles take about one minute (I can't figure that math out. The long deep breath takes a while.)

Interesting he says wahe guru is a body sound.

It is also not clear how to pump the navel which is the most confusing part that people try to figure out.

Everyone must figure out the pumping in a way that works for them. If it is too dramatic it will take too long and one runs out of breath. Also it is my experience that it must be done delicately to not exhaust the kidneys and navel.

[Kundalini Yoga] S.510 Info on Farm Bill

 


Sat Nam Everyone,

I am writing about U.S. Senate bill.... S. 510, otherwise known as the
Farm Bill, but called the "Food Safety Modernization Act." It will be
voted on this coming Monday, November 29th.

Basically, this bill will do the following:

- Gives FDA LOTS of power to shut down family farms

- drives up the costs of food production by adding even more layers of
government interference (17,000 more bureaucrats and $1 billion
increased spending)

- Empowers the Feds to impose international standards on our domestic
food producers

Another issue that particularly concerns me is that if there is ever a
situation where we have to rely on growing our own food for survival,
that gives the lovely govt power over determining what we can/cannot do...

[Kundalini Yoga] Gong: Paiste Stagg Zildjian

I've found, here in Italy, the Paiste, Stagg and Zildjian retailers, but
they are not where I live (or close).

What are the most important features for the gong to have?

What could be the better choice beween these three brands?

Sat Nam,

You should listen to your body. The muscles need to relax for awhile. I have
used a magnetic back brace and arnica cream on that area and rested and had
great improvement.

I have been doing nahbi kriya for around 400 days. It has really helped me. At
my work I have been lifting many heavy things and I have developed some back
pain. When I do the exercises my lower back around my tailbone area hurts. I
have the commitment made to keep up the kriya, but i am wondering should i do it
if it hurts. and is there anything I can do for lower back pain.

Based on our knowledge of the Granthis, we could ask how we are to open the blockage for the opening of the Agya Chakra, the sixth Center. Remember that the Bandhas keep the energy flowing upward and in one direction so that when the Granthis open, the energy can continue its flow towards the seventh Chakra and the Tenth Gate.  In addition to the well known bandhas, Mulbandh, Udyana bandh and Jalandhar bandh, we have a higher fourth one, Agya Chakra Bandh, the Lotus Point Meditation, using the eyes at the Tip of the Nose.  We must do this bandh if we are to try to open the third major Granthi, Rudra. Remember, the other two are Vishnu at the Heart Center and Brahma at the Mooladhara Center.
 
Keep in mind that Eyes Closed is a mudra that focuses the energy at the merging point of the three main Nadis, Ida-Pingala-Sushmana, at the Brow Center.  But it is the Eyes at Tip of the Nose Bandh that balances them and moves the energy up so that the Rudra Granthi, if open, can allow the flow of the energy towards the Pineal gland, Sahasrara and the Tenth Gate.
