Subject: [Kundalini Yoga] Har meditation for prosperity

Hello!

I did the "har" meditation for 40 days and it didn't seem to work for me when it comes to prosperity.

The meditation I did it is the first one in Subagh Kriya.

I read somewhere on the internet that Guru Rattana said we must set an intention before starting the meditation or it will not work. Actually it will work, but if we think about nothing we'll get nothing. I didn't set any intention when I did it.

I'd like to know if this meditation alone is enough or the whole Subagh Kriya should be done. I also would like you people to share your experiences with prosperity meditations if you feel like.

Some people don't like to mix prosperity/money issues with spirituality, but I think that we need money and material resources to be able to express our full potencials here on this planet since we're living a partially material experience.

Also, I'd like to know what the eyes focus should be in the SPIRITUAL WARRIOR MEDITATION FOR PROSPERITY that you can find at Guru Rattana's website: http://www.kundaliniyoga.org/kyt14.html

I'm also having problems to decide which mudra to use on this one....hehehe

Hugs!

Sat Nam,

thank you for your reply, but I was searching for a meditation (dasvandh.org
did house many meditations) and the site you suggested me doesn't help.

[Kundalini Yoga] Re: Correctly

Sat Nam! and thank you. This helps some. The book doesn't have me doing cobra from child's pose, but from just flat on the stomach, but I understand what you are saying and it seems to be evolving that way for me.
Criss-Cross has really been a challenge for me. I have noticed a fearful feeling before doing it, and the entire time I feel like I only have "so long" before I will have to give up and I don't want to give up. In order to apply mulbandh (though the directions doesn't say to do so), I have to bring my legs up to about 60 degrees. The picture has the legs about 2 inches from the floor. Is it normal to feel so much pain in this exercise. The other ab exercises in this series causes no pain and I can feel myself progressing in ability and speed. After doing the criss-cross (though I cannot do it for the full 2 minutes straight... I have to start and stop) I am shaking all over and my hips and lower back feel tight. Another thing is I have a real hard time straightening my legs in these poses, and most of the time keep them slightly bent. I really want to rid myself of this fear in this kriya. It makes me sad. I wonder about my scoliosis. It is serious and affects the 5th lumbar for the most part. I wonder if that is my problem here.

[Kundalini Yoga] Correctly

Sat Nam , The cobra is a type of yogi push up. Think of your sheep skin as the beach and as you go forward from child pose let your nose hover over the sheep skin then as you come up into cobra think of yourslf as a wave crashing against a sea wall then as you go back to child see yourself as the wave receeding  back to the sea. Get into the flow and yes straighten the arms to full extension . If you do not grip you butocks in cobra but allow them to relax and let the tail bone fall freely towards the pubic bone then you will not hurt your lower back. Also plant the hands on the floor and before you lift up draw the shoulder back towards the buttocks so that the chest can extend through the gateway of the shoulders thus allowing the coiling action of the spine to begin. In the criscross think of the navel center 3 fingers below the belly button connecting with the 4 lowest vertbrate. Think of a drop of golden liquid connecting and dripping form the
navel to the spine . Yes the lowe back should be on the floor and mulbandh should be engaged. Sat Nam Wahe Guru keep up

There's only "non-thought" when compared to "thought"
We must learn to transcend duality and stop clinging to concepts.

Moderator: I think we've covered Krishnamirti's take pretty well here, if you have anymore responses on this thread please make them off board.

Every human being has its own level of spiritual evolution, Krishnamurti spoke from his position and growth within the Universe. Khushroo responded very well from the heart too.

KUNDALINI YOGA - LIFE TRANSFORMING!J Krishnamurti was a highly evolved soul, and if you were to read his biography, it is obvious he was one of the few people who was in a constant state of no-thought and meditation. His methods and teachings are very deep, and, in my opinion, I for one, do not consider myself so evolved as to be able to follow his no-mind, no-method, no-yoga, no-techniques teachings. So for small beings like me, I prefer for now to use Kundalini Yoga methods and techniques and lead as good a life as I possibly can, and hope to gain grace from the Guru. Maybe one day I may reach a level where I could follow JK's teachings.

Khushroo

Sat Nam everybody,

I would like to know your opinion about the chat of this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OarXHYc_ciU&NR=1

Krishnamurti says basically: There is no meditation if we try to meditate. We just have to be in attention, not trying of something. I know he had an Antimethod way of thinking about illumination. Kundalini Yoga is very clear a method. So is contradiction betweek Krishnamurti and Kundalini Yoga. Right?

- Would be interesting also to have your opinion if you are an experienced meditator or KY practicant.

-Anybody knows the opinion of Jogui Bhajan about Krishnamurti way of thinking?

ps: I meditate every day just sitting down since 2 years and now practicing KY too since 3 months.

regards,

Pablo.-

[Kundalini Yoga] Correctly performing criss-cross and moving cobra

Sat Nam!
The set that I am working through right now contains two moves that I have been exploring now for about 20 sessions, and I am still unsure about them.

First (Moving Cobra)
Move fairly rapidly through cobra 54 times. stretch your head back, push your shoulders and spine up and back, as you extend the arms and straighten the elbows. Breath through the mouth and stick out the tongue.

In the illustration the woman's eyes are opened, but there is no specification for this. Should they be?

Should you really extend your arms to the fullest extent? I also take a Hatha class and that instructor specifically says not to fully extend your arms in cobra - ever! She says this puts too much strain on the lower spine and can cause injury. It doesn't bother me, and I have been extending fully, however, I do have significant scoliosis that affects the 5th lumbar mostly. I don't want to injure myself.

Second (Criss-Cross)
Still lying on your back, crisscross your arms and legs rapidly back and forth for two minutes.

This is very difficult for me to do for the full two minutes without discomfort and sometimes pain. To support my lower back I have been putting my legs at about 60 degrees, and I have been keeping a slight bend in the knees. The illustration, however, has the woman with her legs about 2 inches from the ground. Her arms are just over her belly. Her chin is tucked and there looks to be a curve upward of the lower spine, which is what mine naturally does when I put my legs out that low. I have always been taught that when doing any kind
of strengthening exercises for the abs that you should pull your navel toward the spine to push your back flat to the ground. This is suppose to protect the lower back. Is KY an exception to this?

Thank you for your help. It is imperative that I don't injure my spine, but improve it. lol

Love to all, peace to all, light to all.
Be blessed,
Kelli

Re: [Kundalini Yoga] What Krishnamurti says about Meditation. What's your opinion?

Sat Nam Pablo

Very simply put, we all confuse prayer and active contemplation with meditation.  I'm sure you have heard people say, "I am going to meditate on it", or "I'll meditate to find the solution to this problem", or more commonly, "I'll pray on it".  You see, meditation is none of the above.  Yogi Bhajan said it clearly, when we pray we talk to God, when we meditate, God talks to us.  Meditation is surrendering your self so your Soul can manifest through you, so the soul can get to your objective mind.

Confusion comes when we are trying to learn to meditate. Here action may be needed until the mind is put into its original purpose, to serve our Soul.  The Aquarian Teacher Manual states "Meditation is the process of controlling and transcending the waves of the mind, allowing the flow of radiance from the soul".  Please be aware that until the flow of radiance from the soul emanates, and as long as we try to meditate, we are not meditating.  We are just in the "process".  Then, we reach Simran, the continuous experience, meditative, of the mind.

This is what JD Krishnamurti used to say that in meditation there can not be a thinker.  To meditate, the thought must come to an end.  The basis for this is explained in Yogi Bhajan's teachings on the Mind where all thoughts will get cloaked by 81 facets.  Basically, once we have mastered that, meditation will follow.

Or, use of of Kundalini Yoga meditation techniques that use this process to elevate us to a frequency level where meditation happens.

In summary, JD Krishnamurti and Yogi Bhajan complement each other when it comes to the topic of meditation.  At least from my perspective.

I usually tell students that they should not try to meditate, but just meditate.  Don't try to see God, see God.  Don't look for God, experience God.

It is in the surrendering, either with a mantra, pranayam, asanas, that we'll find ourselves carried by the Shabd Guru into the Naad.
