Re: [Kundalini Yoga] 15 year old boy having a kundalini awakening experience

Sat nam,

Thank you all for your responses to my question about the 15 year old boy.  He did get a clearance from his doctor to practice yoga.  He and his mother came over and we did the kriya called True Glue from David Shannenhoff Khalsa's book "Kundalini Yoga for Psychiatric Disorders" and we also did the Gunpati Kriya.  These were highly recommended by my teacher as ways to balance all 10 bodies.  I trust her recommendation implicitly and my reason for asking here as well was not only to get other opinions but also to have something in case I couldn't reach her in time.  The boy and his mother were wonderful - a lot of fun, very loving and very receptive.  They felt so good that they are going to do a short home practice as a family.  The boy said these experiences are starting to happen during school and he sometimes feels like crying but is learning how to use his breath to ground himself.  I'm going to follow up with the mother in a few days.

Guru Rattana, what you say about grounding really makes sense and I can definitely relate to the importance of running and being out in nature.  However, isn't the practice of Sat Kriya essential to strengthen the nervous system?

Peace,
Stephanie
