[Kundalini Yoga] Re: Anybody doing shabd kriya?

I forgot to add, it didn't help with the early waking insomnia, but it gave me something to do and I usually did fall back to sleep. The tempo was important- not too slow, slightly faster than one beat/second seemed to give the best results.

So what did help? Some tension-relieving stretching that includes lots of bridge pose before bedtime is nice, melatonin, 5 htp, no more than one cup of coffee or tea in the morning, and no booze of any kind. Plus make sure hormones are adequate so there's no hot flashes! Every age has its challenges, and when I hear younger people bemoaning how guilty they feel about the difficulty of waking at 4 or 5, I'm envious of their beautiful sleep! A nap in the afternoon a couple of times a week is delicious, too.
