Hi Kelli
You asked if you should modify or just push on...I wouldn't push.
Consider doing another set until your neck heals...
please be very mindful of protecting your neck.
also, be aware to breathe properly.
What set are you doing?

Doing cat/cow should not put a strain on your neck unless you are over extending it or going so fast that its being whipped all over the place. As with all our postures start off nice & slow so that you can be aware of what you are doing & what muscles you are using.
Then as you warm up you pick up the pace.
This does not mean to be a "head banger" going off, it means to pick up the pace minfully, staying connected to your body & what it is doing.
Please don't "whip" the head up and down, that may be how you hurt your neck...or you over extended it. Nice steady pace & stay connected.
