RE: [Kundalini Yoga] sore lower back

 

Sat Nam, If you are not sitting in a chair during a Kriya, try sitting on folded blankets so your knees are lower than your hips when cross-legged, if possible. Even if the knees are still high, tilting the pelvis slightly forward (sitting on edge of folded blanket) will help.

And, of course, lying on the back knee hugs, rocking gently side to side (not forward and back), squats heels on the floor (holding onto something sturdy if need be like the edge of a sink), etc. to stretch the back muscles helps too. Gradually, the back muscles will strengthen and not be as tight when called on to support you – oh, and strengthening abs gives the back some help too.
