Re: [Kundalini Yoga] Advice requested on what to practise.

Sat Nam Malcolm

Simple living!

This is my recommendation in providing you some direction.

1. Choose one Kriya. Although I am tempted to tell you that it will not matter which Kriya you choose, and it really does not matter, look around your resources and books for that Kriya that will apply to your current condition/state.  You will know when you see it.  Make that Kriya your Kriya for the next 40 days.  40 days, the same Kriya.  40 days minimum.  Hey, you might become it and keep doing it for 1,000 days.  Wahe Guru!  You will only know.  After 40 days you may choose another one, or just stay with the same.  Yogi Bhajan said that it only takes one Kriya done well, done right.

2. Develop a Sadhana lifestyle. But keep it simple. Don't worry for now about what to eat what to wear, what to do. Rise up early in the morning, 4-6 am or earlier if you can.  This is your time.  This is the time between you and You, to Remember.  Rise up, flush your face with cold water, clean the monkey glands, take a cold shower, whatever you want to do.  At the beginning you may do just nothing.  But rise up and get out of bed and do your Kriya.
3. After the Kriya you can do whatever you want.  While in other traditions and schools it is taught to stay up and not go back to bed, Yogi Bhajan said that if you want to go back to bed, do so.  The important thing is that monumental step of rising up in the Amrit Vela and become one with the One, in Gurus Grace.
3. It is that simple my brother.  Everything else will follow, one Kriya at a time.

In summary, pick one Kriya and hide away all the DVDs, books etc. Don't hide the CDs since you will need them and the music becomes very nice while you are doing your Kriya.  Stick to your Kriya for at least 40 days.

Then, come back and see us...You will be a new You.

May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You

I have a number of books, DVDs and subscribe to the online lessons.

There are so many kriyas, sets, postures and breathing methods that I am confused as to what to practise.

Thank you in advance for any advice given.

Malcolm
