[Kundalini Yoga] Re: How do we receive our Spiritual Name?

Sat Nam, Check on 3HO.org. There should be a link there for applying for a spiritual name. That's the easy part. The hard part is living up to it. Once you get it it means you are making a commitment to BEING that name. It's not just a name, Yogi Bhajan says it is your destiny. He has trained his assistants to meditate and to select a name based on their intuition, your birth date (including the year) and the Sikh scriptures. My name for example came from the mool mantra. But the name can come from anywhere in the scriptures. The problem with a spiritual name is that it is not just an interesting bauble we can bring out and show off every once in a while. It is a real challenge to use it, and to ask family and friends to know you by it. YB has said that not only are you blessed if you use a spiritual name but others who call you by it are blessed also because they are relating to your spirit and not just the physical you. Sat Nam
