[Kundalini Yoga] Re: Motivation waning

Hi Selena,

"Maybe Sally had more fun playing Tomb Raider on her X-box."

The "Sally" example came from a story i heard about Nicolas Tesla, who would build one of his inventions down to the last detail in his mind and then run them in his mind. He would see what would break down and then "fix" it and run it some more. I do something similar when I (for example) choose a new job - fast forward and see what it would be like like in 1 year, 5 years etc.

I didn't mean to imply that there was a set answer: If Sally has more fun, then that is YOUR truth. The point of this exercise to allow your wiser self to guide you. Maybe your wiser self wants to play X-box more then meditate! Concepts can be the enemy of truth. Letting go of concepts of what is "best" might be exactly the right thing for you right now.

I'll end with a thought from Adyashanti's "The Way of Liberation": "Many people think that it is the function of a spiritual teaching to provide answers to life's biggest questions, but actually the
opposite is true. The primary task of any good spiritual teaching is not to answer your questions, but to question your answers."

Be free,

Tom
