Kelli re: scoliosis
It may be irreversible if the vertebrae involved are actually larger on one
side than the other. I also have (had?) scoliosis, but perhaps mine was
more from the way I used my body over the years -- you know, sitting in a
chair with feet tucked up under me ... always to the same side (spinal
curve), or rotating my right shoulder a little forward (right handed) ... or
who knows ... just plain bad posture. when I was 40 I was going to a chiro
every Friday to get my "hip" (obviously, the SI joint) realigned and
anything else he could help with ... of course my habits and my muscles
would "pull me back out" by about Tuesday or Wed. of the following week.
Yoga literally SAVE me (from the pain) when I realized that things could
stay the same (not acceptable), things could get works (BIG ditto) or I'd
have to change my muscles, sit uncomfortable (feet to the other side tucked
up pushing against the curve) etc. Now I can't tell the difference ... feet
tucked either way feel almost the same and certainly not uncomfortable
either side....this IS almost 19 years later ... but it was within a few
months that I had relief from my back pain ... and the journey continued ...
and continues.

I do have an interesting case of scoliosis that begins in my 5th lumbar. I
see I chiropractor regularly to stay pain free. They have said it is
irreversible. :(
