[Kundalini Yoga] Sodarshan CK - Question - There is any problem for Beginners?

 

Hello Everybody I am new in the group.

This is a question for people who know about Sodarshan Chakra Kriya.

I am beginner with Kundalini Yoga. I've been practicing for 2 months practicing in a group 2 times a week and I already did the 40 days of awakening the 10 bodies.

I really want to begin now with Sodarshan Chakra Kriya. Actually, I am already in my 4th day doing it for 11 minutes and I have no problems at all to complete the cycles of 48 pumps. I feel it confortable. Because I can sostain the breathing 1 minute without problem.

So, The question is the next: some people told me Sodarshan is for advanced and not for beginners because could be dangerous. So that I should do some not so advanced kriyas before. But they did not tell me why.
-It is true?
-Beginners can have problems with this kriya?
-There are problems or traumas reported for beginners trying to do it?
-For What level is officially reccommended this Kriya ? What Jogui -Bhajan says about it?
What I only saw is that beginners should begin with less than 11 minutes, but nothing else.
So please I will appreciate any answer because after these comments I am affraid now that could be dangerous, and if I do it is to be better of health and not worst.

I am happy to find this group when people practicing KY can help eachother sharing info.

Anderson,

You never know, probably this life spiritual growth is carried forward from where you left in last life.

So you may have something from past life which we got after putting effort in this life. Just feel good about it, if u start feeling good then u may see a shift in your thought process.

[Kundalini Yoga] Question about Sadhana

 

Hi,
I was wondering: Do I need to read a special book about sadhana or can I just wake up at 4:00 AM and practice until 6:00 AM using a book like "Relax and Renew", and go through the exerices in the order in which they're presented in the book?

Should I begin by starting at 5:00 AM and work my way back to 4:00 AM?

Also, I don't have a window in my apartment that allows a lot of sun. Does this matter?

[Kundalini Yoga] exercise for arthritis?

 

Sat nam, Yogis and Yoginis,

One of my students is concerned because her older sister, who is in her 40s, has to get a knee transplant because of osteoarthritis. She is wondering if I can recommend exercise to help her prevent that.

I asked her if she did any weight-bearing exercise, and she said no.

Any guidance/suggestions would be appreciated. She does take daily doses of calcium/magnesium.

[Kundalini Yoga] Re: gastric acidity

 

My recipe to fight gastric acidity in 10 minutes :

1) Begin to empty the air stored in your stomach : In a sitting position, deeply exhale, hold your breath out and pump strongly your navel until you need to exhale. Begin again 3 or 4 times. Then wait a while until you feel that you need to burp. When you feel burping is coming, let you burp to empty the air you have in your stomach. If you feel you have still air to empty, begin again the whole sequence until you feel no pression in your stomach and no need to burp.

2) Fight gastric acidity : Eat somes pills of licorice, let them fully dissolve in your mouth and swallow the juice of licorice. Licorice is very effective to fight gastric acidity.

It worked for me each time I did that. I hope it will work for you and all people using this recipe.

I also suffered from gastric issues before changing my diet from a non veg eater to a vegan.

Try some Live Set Yoghurt (dhainee) every day. It is also very easy to make at home also. Takes some practice to master but is highly recommended for gastric issues. Yogiji recommends a bowl of this type of yoghurt everyday to keep the gut healthy and moving (Source: Ancient Art of Self Healing). The yoghurt should have some alkaline effect on the gut neutralising the acidity felt. Also try not to eat spicy foods. Try to eat more fresh foods cooked in the home and avoid anything too heavy. This should get the digestive tract to balance itself to normality.

[Kundalini Yoga] re: gastric acidity

 

I know it may sound odd but, a spoon of raw cider vinegar will relieve an acid stomach. Years ago I used to get the worst acid reflux and vinegar took the burning away almost instantly. I'm a raw food vegan now so I don't get the reflux any more.
