Yes, it has to do with the Mayan calendar and the prediction that on the
date 12/12/2012 the world would come to an end as we know it.
World wars, natural disasters, pole shifts within the earth would
dramatically change the earths surface and mass migrations would occur

From what I understand -- and this is from many sources -- 2012 is a time of
"change" -- and as we all know, not everyone is comfortable with or likes
change. It may or may not be a polar shift (which has occurred before) etc.
... and/or may just be a change in consciousness and "world view" -- for
example, think about the reaction if we had "first contact" with a race from
another planet/solar system -- that would be a change, and there would be
very diverse reactions to it.
but also, from what I've read, in the year 2032 there will be world peace --
true peace. So first the change, then maybe the growth mentally and
spiritually, then peace. And I plan to be around to enjoy it. ;}
