Sat Nam! and Wahe Guru!
Thank you for writing this. I completely agree coming from the Christian point of view. I am a Christian, and I believe that yoga is a gift from God to us, not magic. If yoga works, it is God working from within us, acknowledging our efforts, helping us learn to listen to the bodies given us by the Creator. In my beliefs, true negative energy directed at someone is a sin, and some would even equate it to actually harming a person. I am not as at peace or even near to that as Yogi Bhajan. It is hard for me to even imagine how I could possibly use this mantra without the ego or intention involved. I do not believe in an eye for an eye. I would even pause at calling this a mantra for protection - re direction maybe. :)
I love yoga, and if we aren't careful in how we practice, people can mistake yoga for something else all together. Yoga is giving me back my spirituality, and bringing me closer to the God I love.
This makes me want to look deeper into the Gita and other such spiritual texts.
Thanks again.
