While tempted to give you a long convoluted answer, I'll stick with simplicity.
Be simple!
Morning Sadhana is the time to Remember.
At the beginning it is hard until we push our minds out and we become the Sadhana.
The Sadhana schedule you describe is/was great and complete. We try to do it once a month. But for your personal Sadhana, although starting with JapJi after the cold shower will set you "free", choose a Kriya that you feel will attend to your current state. It looks you may not have any problems with long meditation periods. But until you reset the habit, one to one hour and a half may be good. Stick to this Kriya for at least 40 days, preferably 1,000 days so you can master it and the habit becomes who your are (past 120 days). A Kriya with a meditation should not go beyond one hour unless you would like to add a long meditation, for example, you might want to do a 2 1/2 hr meditation afterward.
Remember, Sadhana is a discipline of the mind and body to serve the soul. This way, you will follow your Soul's intent. While time is critical, sometimes more is not better. Yogi Bhajan said that it only takes one, just one, Kriya done right.

My legal name is Laura Walklett (I am yet to receive my spiritual name)
I first came across Kundalini yoga in 2003 when I was living in Brighton, UK. There was a great Yoga centre called Yogahaven and after trying Hatha, Iyengar, Bikram and Ashtanga, Kundalini teacher Siri Datta got my full attention... wow, Kundalini yoga is at another level!
Having travelled and moved country to live and work in Spain, I didn't practice as much but since last Summer, I have tried living on a high-raw food diet and doing Kundalini Yoga every day before work.
It would be nice if those of you who get up and do your Sadhana can share your experiences. ..as I have been rising early daily since last September (give or take a few days) and experimented at different timings to try and get the right balance between the spiritual life, normal (stressful) working life and trying to fit a healthy marital life in as well!
I was getting up at 4.30am, Listening to Japji for half hour whilst I had a cold shower and got dressed, then did half hour stretching, then the 62 minutes of Aquarian mantras, then an hour or so of yoga depending on which yoga DVD I put on (There are no local Sadhana groups or Kundalini Yoga classes!) I also added half hour meditation to start morning sadhana (focusing on the 1 minute breath...20 secs inhale, 20 secs hold, 20 secs exhale)
After Sadhana me and my partner go off to work for 7 straight hours, no breaks, then come back and eat/crash out, going to bed by 10pm.
As we both ended up REALLY tired all the time, we have now decided to get up at 6am, Japji/cold shower time, 62 min Aquarian mantra and then a yoga DVD.
What I want to know is how you all do it, whilst maintaining stressful jobs and keep your relationships going, as Sadhana is personal (i.e. you are sitting next to your partner but not talking to them, being intimate with them etc. and by the time you get home and eat, it is time to go to bed...and sleep!)
I really look forward to hearing your Sadhana stories...
