It can at least get you started. I too do not have a teacher in my area, I would have to travel too far to get to them. So, until I move, I am going to teach myself. See if you can befriend someone, even on here that teaches it or has been doing it for sometime and they will help you during your journey and hopefully be able to assist you in answering any questions you may have during your integration.
I have a friend in Texas that is helping me, I am in Michigan.
