Nice blog, Tom, and thanks for sharing. It's good to hear about peoples' experiences with meditation and gives others a great incentive to try meditations they might otherwise miss. I've done sadhanas of so darshon at 31 minutes and also had the experience of becoming aware for the first time the incredible amount of negative self-talk going on in the background of my mind. The magnitude of the problem was shocking! And provided further commitment to rectify the situation with KY, meditation and chanting. One of these days, I'm going back to it for the full 62 minutes. Did you know that it's the favorite meditation of quite a few Yogi Bhajan long-timers who have been doing it for, what, over 20 years now? So we certainly don't need stop at 40 days as there is always more to be gained.
