Sat Nam,
I recommend you do the meditation as directed or choose another
meditation that works with 'sing along.'
This meditation works because of the pranayama which you must regulate
yourself.
Listen to your breath and to the sound of the mantra and feel its
vibration in your body. You will make more progress than having your
attention outside yourself.
