RE: [Kundalini Yoga] Kirtan Kriya resource

Sat Nam, I have a timer app on my phone where I can set multi-timers – so I set one time to 2 minutes, next to 4 minutes, next to 7 minutes, then 9, and finally 11, so I get a chime each time I need to change – all timers start at the same time. But I'll look for the Nirinjan Kaur one also – I might actually have it. Thanks.

You yogis may all ready know about this, you newbees might be interested.

Kirtan Kriya is something that has come up in the newsgroup lately.
I know for myself I had trouble finding a 31 minute audio of this meditation to guide me along.  Lots of 11 minute resources, but none longer.  I wound up making a poor quality recording myself because I didn't want to think about the transitions.

I finally found one I like:

Meditations for Transformation: Kirtan Kriya by Nirinjan Kaur.

It has everything I was looking for in a recording:  Pleasant voice, a little triangle or something to indicate that you are about to change from loud to soft and so on.

If you know of a better one, please share.

Kirtan Kriya is an awesome tool, one I think I will keep coming back to.

Be well,

Tom

Dear Guru Rattana,

Thank you for your profound and concise reply.

It's clearer for me intellectually now what it means to heal the female arc line, although one can never fully and truly know the meaning of something without ever having any experience of it. I am as of today on my 9th day of 31 minutes Kirtan Kriya and on my 5th day of Grace of God as well as SCK. I already feel that cleansing has begun and that it will gradually intensify, although in a smooth and pleasant manner. The healing of the female arcline is felt subtly, as detachment to past relationships is increasing. I look forward to my journey of this 90 day sadhana. :-)

Thank you yet again, Guru Rattana!

Lu

[Kundalini Yoga] jet lag kriya

Here is a report on the kriya for jet lag.

I recently took a trip from Hawaii to Laos / Thailand.  Time here now is 9:30 PM, there 2:30 PM tomorrow.  17 time zones or so

The kriya which I learned on the RaviAna AM/PM DVD is a pranayam, 31 minutes.

4 sniffs inhale, 16 counts hold, 2 counts exhale

SA TA NA  MA inhale,  4 repetitions of SA TA NA MA. This will be 16 counts on the hold, Wahe on part one of exhale, guru on the second part.

Going west, I give it a 4 Lotus on a 1-5 scale.  I had no "bonk" ever but I did wake up for  30 minutes or so at 1:30 AM exactly for several days.

I did the meditation basically wrong on the first day, I forgot how long the hold was.  On day two I followed the DVD and just stretched it out to 31+ minutes before bed.  I might have fallen asleep for a few minutes during the meditation.

Other things I did wrong:  you should have no coffee or alcohol when traveling for jet lag.  I had an espresso the morning I left and a small glass of wine on the plane.  Things I did right:  Lots of hydration and and afternoon nap at my destination.

Going east, I give it a 3 1/2 Lotuses out of 5.  Again no "bonk" ever, and I got immediately on the local time but I was up on night three after returning.  Really awake.  I figured don't fight it and watched a movie "the book thief" and some Adyashanti videos.  I figure I was awake 2 /12 or 3 hours that night starting at midnight.  . The other nights were pretty good, I was up a little each night  but fell back asleep quickly.

This time I did the full 31 minutes on the plane as it was coming in and again at bedtime for several days.   I was again very hydrated on the plane, but again had a shot of espresso in the morning.  I was in coach trying to fit my 6'1" body into a sleeping position for an all night flight that got in at 9:30 in the morning.

So there you have it.  Not a perfect meditation, but highly recommended.

Be well, my friends,

Tom

Re: [Kundalini Yoga] Newbie question: Women, why clear your female arcline?

Dear Lu,

Thank you for your sincere questions.

Concerning woman's arcline between the nipples.  This is broken by lack of self-love and wounds that compute that we are not loveable. Kirtan Kriya and other KY practices rebuild self love and open our hearts to ourselves.
They open us to the experience of Love that is not dependent upon a lover or anyone else paying attention to us. Our spiritual purpose is to experience this all-inclusive Love.

For instance, I have been hurt alot in the past by ex-lovers, but I have always learned about myself and grown as a woman from these experiences, how tough they might have been. It might be so that I have a hard time letting go, I always have some hope in my heart for some exes, even if we have an ocean between us, and even if several years have passed by. But cutting them out completely feels like cutting off a piece of myself. These few days of Kirtan Kriya have already removed the imprint of one recent man, since I now hardly think of him. But in a dream I met an old lover who didn't want to cut the emotional band between us. So my question is if not these emotional bands between men and women (and women and women!) still will fill a purpose in our life?

Yikees. Did I understand correctly? Emotional bonds between you and a partner are your purpose in life?

In any case, Yes, you will find a most loving and peaceful purpose in your life.

I think I'm just trying to understand the "science" behind it: if it removes the love or just the sadness and longing related to the past relationships.

Love is never removed. Emotional commotional dependency is removed.

It is normal for beginners to have many questions. Write down all your questions,  ask for answers, and put this list away. The practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation will awaken in you another way to find answers to your questions. You will receive answers from within. You will learn to listen within, instead of searching outside yourself. Through your own personal experience, you will graduate from thinking to consciousness, from trying to figure everything out to trusting your intuitive soul knowing.

When our dualistic, 'rational' mind is in charge, we want specific answers and explanations about how things work and why. We believe that answers to our questions will bring us peace. But our mind continues to generate more questions, and our inner confict is not attenuated. What we are really trying to find is a different relationship with our questions. What we really want is resolution and inner peace, which are available beyond duality in our neutral mind and in our heart.

The answers we receive may not be what we expect, but expectations are made up in our creative/positive mind and get in the way. The cleanest way to find answers is to be in 'discovery mode,' making ourselves available to listen, to receive, and to find guidance in whatever forms it appears. All the above become available as our awareness expands. So focus on your practice and awakening, be patient, and stay alert. The Universe and our soul speak to us in many interesting and unexpected ways.

You are on a very special journey. Keep us posted of your experience.

Blessings,

Guru Rattana :+)
